I am currently on 10.6.8 on my Macbook Pro Mid 2010 running 2.4 Intel Core 2 Duo with 8gb DDR3 Ram.

I have looked at the reviews and stuff on the App Store but I am juts apprehensive to upgrade or not...what are your thoughts.

First time doing a clean install on Mac...if i back up everything on Time Machine then do the install. Can I use the TM backup to install all stuff back on or would i need to reinstall all the software again.

Also how can i do a clean install without a disc of yosemite....was gonna do it via App Store.

I agree with this post. On another notes, its a good OS :)

I clean upgraded my late 2013 rMPB.

It's a good OS, far buggier than Mavericks in my experience though. I have considered downgrading but I think I can live with it until their next version of OSX.

It's far more stable now since the second service pack... But tbh; unless you have the whole apple eco system, iphone/ipad/computer; I really can't see much benefits in doing so.

There's still a few bugs that's really doing my head in... But hey; come November we be on the next one.. Lol

How can it be a good OS if its buggier than the previous?

If you upgrade, you absolutely should upgrade to Yosemite 10.10.3 as all versions between 10.6.X and 10.10.3 are vulnerable to a root exploit.
