I currently have a p5n-e sli with a e4300 the problem is i cannot clock it past 2.4 anymore.
it sat at 3ghz for a while but no matter what i do now i cant get it past 2.4.
money is really tight and want to get new gfx card soonish but need a decent cpu to run it with.
would i be better getting a p45 on the chance i can get it to 3 or 3.2ghz or get a q6600 for my current mobo and not clock it?
cheers in advance for any help.

Can you test your CPU in another system to see whether it is the CPU or mobo at fault?

You could pick up a s/h or clearance/"B" grade P35 - should only cost ~£50.

nobody knows much about p45s yet... buying one now isn't a great idea if you want any sort of guarantee.

no am afraid i cant test them in another system, im fairly sure its the mobo tho, has always been a nightmare when overclocking.
if i could get a p35 for around 50 that would be perfect, any recomedations?.
be better for when i can afford a quad anyway i suppose?
cheers
