Thanks for the reply.

The case uses the 24 pin mobo connector.

Is there an adapter to convert to the standard usb socket or is the silverstone card my only option?

An adapter cable to allow you to plug a USB 3.0 header cable into a USB 2.0 header without the need for an additional card exists. I only know this because my case came with one.

However, a quick search and I cannot find a single retailer for one, maybe I'm just being blind though :p

I've searched for ages for something like this but can't find one!

Yeah stulid, I've seen those in plenty of places, in fact OC stock them.

However I was referring to a cable that turns a 3.0 cable into a 2.0 cable, to connect front USB 3.0 ports in a case to a motherboard that only has a USB 2.0 header so that you can at least use the front ports at 2.0 speed.

Thats the cable I got with my 500R. The 20-pin end connects to the 20-pin from the case's front USB ports. Leaving you with a 2.0 cable to connect to an available 2.0 header on your board.

Ah sorry mate.

That Coolermaster cable was intended for that Silverstone expansion card that has a 19pin internal USB3.0 header, then plug the case front panel USB3.0 into that (still dont think its got the right male/female connector on it for the case cable).

I've seen something from coolermaster, its got the 19pin USB3.0 at one end and two external USB ports at the other,

I am safe to link it - http://www.coolermaster.nl/shop/product_info.php?cPath=73&products_id=799

Stulid you're a genious!

I think that's exactly what I need. So that coolermaster cable connects to two internal or external regular usb 3.0 ports (on an expansion card) and then the other end connects to my 19 pin case connector - the cable acting instead of a mobo header.

Thanks again :D

edit: Reddev - the cable you've linked to gives you 2 internal ports from a mobo header. I don't have a mobo header so the coolermaster cable is what I'm after.

Ah right, sorry. I thought your problem was that you had USB3 ports on your case, but only had a 2.0 header available.

In that case, that coolermaster cable will do the job nicely.
