But, personally, I would invest in a secondary hard drive, or an external drive and copy all of your data to this secondary hard drive, and remove it when installing Vista.

Yeah this was my secondary plan, but needs more money so would be put off a lot longer.. I've been putting off buying vista for too long already haha

I really am curious to why you didn't upgrade to SP2 on XP though. That's madness.
me too and its either because he has no internet connection for updates or because he has a parrot and says "arrrrrrrrrr" a lot and has a wooden leg.I've got an idea why he wouldn't have upgraded.
Because he installed it at sp1 and couldnt use the updateNo reason why that version couldn't be on SP2.
