I’m due to finally upgrade next week. And EE has the Pixel 7 and Pro at a far more competitive price than the iPhone 14 pro.
Now I was predominantly Android only till 2020 when I got a iPhone 11 and now 12pro.
But I’m just not paying £88 per month (minus 20% NHS discount) for a 14 pro.
Just need a good camera, reliable device and a decent price. Or do I wait for the S23 series?
or downgrade to regular iPhone 14/plus
Or pick up a discounted S22 Ultra.

Are you open to switch networks? I've been with EE since they were Orange but as you can only buy EE plans direct now, they are really expensive compared to others. For example, I wanted a Pixel 7 (ended up buying for £495 on Amazon when it was on sale), EE wanted minimum £44 per month with 25Gb data and £30 handset cost while Vodafone is £30 per month, 100Gb data and no handset cost (it was £19 but the Affordable Mobiles site has a sale on currently).

I only have sim only with EE currently but likely will change to Vodafone when I can do for more data for same or less cost.

Camera quality I can't comment on but sites like GSM Arena will give you and idea as you can compare phones.

Unfortunately yes. Where I live EE seems to be the best signal. Tried O2 in the past and they were dreadful.
I’m open to going Sim free.

Whether its the iPhone or the Pixel go for sim only and buy the handset separately. I have the Pixel 7 pro and with the deals and trade ins Google are offering you can end up with a very cheap flagship, they currently have 100 off the Pixel 7 pro but are offering very good trade ins. Just as an example I got £185 for iPhone 6S which was just sat in a drawer. If you know a student you can also use a student code to get an additional 10% off, if you have Google One that also gets you 10% as Store Credit.

Bit of work but if you do it right you can end up with the phone for way less than £500. On the other hand my wife got the 14 Pro and she just used Apples interest free option over 24 months for £45 a month and has a EE sim only for only £10.

If you want to go SIM free and get a Pixel 7/7 Pro then you can get over £500 trade in for your iPhone direct from Google and the 7 series is on offer on their website.
