Upgrade Wanted: Fast Computer Needed for Gaming/Website Work

Hello everyone.

I am looking at upgrading some of my parts for my computer, there are two reasons for this. The first to make it faster for doing website work and for gaming then secondly because I want to build my girlfriend a computer and want to use some of the parts from mine.

The budget I have is about £600 for parts for my computer and for the girlfriends computer using some of my parts.

Current computer spec (running Windows 7 64bit):

Asus P5K Premium
Intel Core Duo 2 E8400
6GB Corsair Dominator 8400 DDR2 Ram
Corsair 540HX PSU
Article Cooling Freezer Pro 7 Heatsink
Creative X-fi gamer soundcard
8800GT 512MB Graphics Card
500GB Hardrive (cant remember which make or speed)
Antec 1200 Case

Not sure where I can go from here. For the girlfriends computer looking at something for browsing internet/gaming on left for dead/fashion/webdesign. Already have the monitor.

I do a lot of web design and the spec you have is fine for that, for gaming you could just get a good gfx card like a 5970 (maybe another psu aswell) or upgrade to a i5 system and see what gfx card u can get with what is left.. 5850 or 5770
 
Well for gaming probably not and i dont really know anything about web work so i would say yes it will...Someone else will probably give you a better idea on the sort of difference you will get
