Ok so my upgrdae is due with Orange soon and i currently have a k750i, my requirments for a phone are simple

It doesn't need to be,

A mp3 player - i have an ipod
A uber camera - i have a 350d
A smart phone of any desription - i have an o2 xda exec for that

It needs to be,

Cheap
Have bluetooth
A 1mp+ camera
A radio would be nice but not essential
Must look good

Ok so i am looking at either the W810i or the v3i or v3x, now i have read reviews on the w810i and it seems to offer me nothing new over my k750i apart from a different joystick and a few more buttons, this i must admit is putting me off it.

Any ideas or opinions are welcome. :)

steer clear of v3x/v3i (admittedly i couldn't convice my sister not to get the v3i) they are crappy build quality, **** interface (do moto ever update?)

if your current phone does everything you want, then you could just get the best phone you can and flog it on ebay..

the w800 is perfection to say the least i have one and love it. the only difference how ever between the W800i and the K750i is the walkman software and 512mb stick that comes with it. although you can use software called Davinci to update the K750i's firmware to the w800i's and then swap the case and u have your self a w800i!

i hated my last moto so much mainly because it didnt have a decent camera or memory (v620) but i've heard the V3X is slightly better.

out of the two id choose the w800i ... not even close

V3i looks nice but has no radio. W810i is nice but nothing that great but if you like the K750i then its for you tbh, just dont expect much more than you got with the K750i.

I would except it has the joystick problem, and i like to have a new phone every 6 months, that is what is putting me off the w810i it seem just the same. :(

Damm orange and thier crappy range of phones.

TBH I think thats probally the best option. Try and blag a 8800 and sell it. Nothing you looking at is much better than your K750i. Or try and get cheaper rental from network instaed of getting a new phone.

Wholeheartedly agree there.

They do, have you phoned them?

No they don't. The 8800 is only available on Orange from CPW as all the retail stocks are now pretty much gone. It's never been available over the phone as an upgrade, and always incurs a fee.

I'd second (third?) the suggestion to avoid the motorolas...

W810i is probably the best option for what you want at the moment, and doesn't suffer the joystick issue the K750i does (because it doesn't have one)

Hmm may be true as long as i dont have to pay £30 for it.

Don't quote me on this but I picked up a W810i from Orange this week on a 12 month £20 a month contract for free, directly from the Orange website, so if you use your phone with any kind of regularity I don't expect you'd have to pay for it as an upgrade.

Also on the phone itself, it's really damn nice, I had a K700i a while back and I much prefer the replacement to the joystick, feels more solid and is handy for locating the controls for the walkman software. Only problem i've had with it is a weird thing when in camera mode if you put the flash on after about 5 secs the flash start pulsing on and off for no apparent reason.

Well I would go for soemthing a bit better than the W810i poss the W900i if you like SE. Or the SPV M600 or the Nokia N80, I know you said your not bother about these sort of phones but, there are worth a lot of money and are good phone. If worst comes to worst then you can always sell them then get a W810i or something a pocket a tidy sum.

w900i isn't available on Orange, and if he's buying through Orange online the M600 has been out of stock for a while now iirc.

The N80'd probably sell well although it's not had very good write ups on here from what I've seen.

I'd just go for the w810 personally, or wait a bit longer for the new phones to come out if you can put up with your dodgy joystick for a little while longer.

De-brand it using the Da Vinci firmware and you will find that flashing light problem will disappear ;). I had the same prob with my tmobile branded W810i, re-flashed it last week and not only does it make the phone much more faster but also much more prettier ie flash menus are now available to use and it also stops that flashing light problem:).
