Upgrade worth it?

Hi see sig for rig specs. I am considering an upgrade to 8th gen 7800x and x299 TUF more than likely with dominator platinum RAM. Question is would it be worth it? My OCd Haswell system and 1080ti is cutting through everything at the moment and there is no system bottleneck as far as I can see. Should I just wait till later on in the year for price reductions? PC used primarily for gaming. Many thanks!

Absolutely not.

You're gonna need every penny you've got if you ever want to upgrade that 1080ti to the next time a Ti comes out

i'm pretty sure you just answered your own question lol

of course if you have the upgrade itch and want to scratch it, then that's a different matter.
but just on performance increase alone, pointless.

As it's for gaming consider upgrading the mouse or keyboard - get something pretty and RGB.
