i ve set my self a budget for my new parts
what i am going to use from old system for the time being.
Pair of 37gig raptors
Corsair 1GB DDR XMS3200C2PT TwinX (2x512MB)
Enermax Liberty 500W ELT500AWT ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU

so far what ive choosen is
xfx7950
4000+ 90nm, San Diego
another matched pair of same ram as above as its so cheap now seems a cheap option for 2gig

That leaves me around £95 for mobo (if change ill get better cooling for cpu)
My two questions what board and why
And is my psu up too the job from what ive read it won t be its only few weeks old never used and was all that was left of an order i sent back.

I only have old 17inch tft which ill change in few months time to a NEC

You have a 17" TFT at the moment right? What size NEC are you gonna get? The 7950 GX2 might be overkill if it's smaller than 24".

Also I think AMD systems have problems with all 4 DIMM slots taken up. I'm pretty sure the memory will run slower because it's in 2T instead of 1T.

Yes thats why i mention monitor upgrade to avoid the over kill stuff yes i am going to get as big as i can afford thats why i getting that card now

Thats why i can t make mind up about mobo as it would be nice to get one with option for future cpu upgrade.
But am still worried that my shiny new psu won t be up to the job
Would you guys think i should leave the ram as is for now then just change to matched 2 gig in the future upgrade just seemed buying same again was a nice cheap option to keep me in my budget for now

If you want to upgrade the CPU in the future then there's no point sticking with a 939 system. All of the CPU's have been discontinued on that system. Keep the 1GB you have now but definetly get 2GB later on.
