Hi guys,

I've had enough of my Shuttle overheating and shutting down in games. I've decided to move to a full tower system again but I dunno what I could save from the Shuttle and what I'd have to upgrade. (I want to make the transition as cheap as possible).

Current spec of my Shuttle is as follows:

Shuttle XPC ST20G5
AMD 64 3200+ Socket 939
1GB PC3200 (I think)
ATi X800 GTO 256MB PCI-Express

I'm just sick of not being able to play games. In WoW the PC will turn off after 4-5 minutes. This is even with the radiator turned off, the window open and the side off the case. I can't take that anymore, so I'm just going to go to a full tower system.

So I guess I'd need, Case, Motherboard, Cables? Hoping you guys can help out a little there (I'm a bit out of touch with the hardware scene).

All help appreciated, thanks guys :)

Well I want it to be as cheap and easy as possible, but to give you a figure I'd say £250?

EDIT: I'm also open to any suggestions on how to get my core temps down btw. I looked on Core Temp after a crash and it's at 110oC. Idle in Windows it's around 67oC.

This case and PSU would be more than adequate for the parts you have.

As for a decent 939 board, I'd say look at something like the Asus A8N.

Have you tried reseating the CPU + HSF and applying a new coating of thermal paste?
That case and PSU looks good Value, thanks for that mate.

Has anyone got any ideas why my Shuttle runs so hot? I've had it all rebuilt and put new paste on the CPU and that didn't help at all.

Swapping up to a bigger (and hopefully cooler) case is what I'll do if I can't get this sorted soon.
