Upgrade

Hi, im in need of a little advice regarding upgrading my PC. Currently im running an AMD 2600 with 1gb ram on an asus a7n8x mobo with a geforce 6800 gfx card (agp). I have 2x sata HD's that I upgraded to at the end of last yr so there fine but think the cpu could do with an upgrade having scored 3.5 on the vista cpu test, vista also does seem abit sluggish hence why I think its time to upgrade.

So some advice would be greatly appreciated as im abit out of touch with these things these days, I mainly use the pc for music & internet & dont want to spend too much on it £300ish I guess, dont mind going abit higher if its worth it, thanks.

Well if possible id keep/utilise what bits I already have if they are decent enough, like I say kind of lost touch abit so for all I know my gfx card could be dog slow or not compatible with whatever mobo I need to get :confused:

Yes im thinking 2gb of ram is the way to go here, however if I just upgraded my ram from 1gb to 2gb which would be very ideal on the wallet!

im guessing it wouldnt cure all my problems & that the cpu is the real prob with my current setup?

Nope, havent overclocked it & I think its coming upto 4yrs old now so it has had a good innings!
