Hi guys, looking to upgrade and this forum was invaluable when I did my first build a couple of years back.
What I want is to keep my current setup to give to my brother and get myself a new rig. No need for any peripherals or monitors and I have a psu.
So I'm looking for new:
Possibly might go for a soundcard. I currently have my stereo connected up through the onboard sound. I wouldn't want to buy new speakers but if I can connect my old stereo system to it and it's going to be noticeably better than the onboard, I'll go for one.
I have enough hard drives. So i'm only looking for something small for the o/s.
I currently have a copy of XP pro. Not sure if vista is worth buying but if you think it is add it to the spec.
Looking around the £1000 mark, but I can push that a bit more if it makes a worthwhile difference.
I've never overclocked or tweaked apart from case modding, but i'm willing to give it a try.
