Looking to upgrade my pc.ATM i have a Athlon 64 4000+ with a A8N-E,seasonic m12 700,8800 GTX,150gb raptor and 2048 mb of ram in a coolermaster cavalier case(not oc'd).It plays all the games i wish to play atm very well (mainly mmorpg's/hl2).
I'm still on xp home but also thinking of a os upgrade.
As i play mmorpg's and these being memory hungry and dx10 out, should i get 64 Vista?
I have approx £300-£400 too spend on upgrade.
Cpu/mobo/memory/os/case?

Many thanks all

Many thanks for such a quick reply
Looks a very good set up.Please don't think i'm questioning you, but as i haven't upgraded for i while why don't you suggest the quad core or the ga-p35-ds3l.
Again very much appreciated

i dont suggest a quad core as not many games can use 4 cores and buying a quad may not have been in your budget, depending on what case you get. i didnt suggest the ga-p35-ds3l as i havent used that mb, however if you think its a better board go for it.

i dont really do any online gaming of any type so i wont be able to say, however if you want to spend more, i would suggest the q6600 as the quad to get even though there are newer quads out, they seem overpriced for your budget.

also add a 3rd party cooler to your spec such as the artic cooler pro 7 if you are not OCing or mildly OCing or the tuniq tower if you are trying to OC a lot

i dont suggest a quad core as not many games can use 4 cores.

I second the motion.

PS - i am playing one of those MMo in BETA (can't say which coz NDA) and you don't need quad. Instead get 4gb RAM for Vista64.

I would favour lower latency Ram PC6400C4 - any of the brands on OCuK will do
