Hey all, Purchased my current PC 2.5 years ago, it is still going strong, runs everything I want, and plays most games on decent settings, however I am now doing 3D Modelling, and have to wonder if it is worth upgrading with new games coming out.

Current Spec:

AMD X2 4800+
2GB OCZ PC3200
Asus Deluxe ATI Crossfire Mother Board
ATI X1900XTX 512MB

Looking at:

Quad Core Intel Go 2.4Ghz
Crucial PC5400 4GB
ATI 4850 512MB
Asus P5N-E SLi nForce 650 Motherboard

Costing about £400, any better specs?

Would I be best just upgrading graphics?

I will be going on a gap year in a year also, so not sure if its worth waiting till after that...

Thanks.

Well unless it's a premade system can't see why you would get PC5400 RAM, graphics card doesn't exist (although I assume it's 4850) and motherboard is pants for overclocking. You seem content now and talking about getting a new PC for future games now. Also I take it you won't be using the PC that much in the gap year?
