i'm toying with the idea of upgrading my pc but i'm not sure what my best option is with regard to the motherboard.

i've currently got a Foxconn P35AP-S.

i'm thinking of either an x38/x48 so i can run crossfire in full x16 mode as opposed to x16 x4.

the rest of my system is in my sig but i'm also wondering whether to upgrade to a ddr3 board too.
i know the benefits aren't huge at present but i'm thinking of future profing my pc so i don't have to upgrade until next year when the x58 and nehalem's are cheaper

I'd try the two new cards in 16x/4x and then compare that against published results for a 16x/16x board - I get just over 20,000 on my J&W JW-X48D2-Extreme with a pair of HD4850's. Depending on the results in 16x/4x you may not feel it's worth spending the extra.

do you think the Foxconn is adiquate enough?

it's had good reviews with pc mag etc and a recomendation from a friend is why i brought it.

but for some reason lately when in the bios it moves between options painfully slow and i'm not sure why?!
