Upgrade!!

Hi all

I want to upgrade my 3 year old system.

My spec.
Windows Vista 32bit
AMD Opteron DualCore 146 Socket 939, @ 2600 MHz (9 x 289) best i can get stable.
G.Skill 2GB DDR HZ PC4000
BFG GeForce 8800 GTS OC 512MB
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Fatal1ty Professional
Seagate Barracuda 7200. 500GB SATA-II 32MB Cache
PSU Enermax Liberty 620W

I don't have much to spend really.
I play games on and off the net, and just browes the net.

The only thing i want to upgrade, are the CPU, The motherboard, ram. and of course the cooler.
The Graphics Card, hardrive, soundcard & the PSU are staying

I play fifa09 a lot, BF2 etc. it just feels like when playing fifa 09, it's lacking some CPU power, and the graphics card is to strong for it.
Would the spec below be a good one to go for, and with me keeping my graphics card (due to funds) work well with that set up for a good few years?
I'll want to clock the CPU, and would it be worth clocking the Graphics card also ?
maybe 6 months or so, ill upgrade to a ATI Radeon HD 4870 1024MB.

That all comes to £359.32 posted.
Don't really want to go past the £370 mark.
What would you change there ?
Just want to play my games smooth at 1600x

with settings up to max.

looking at the spec you put together maybe go for a better cooler.

either that or maybe up the 8400 to the 8500.

Better cooler ? like what. i chose that cooler coz of the good reviews iv'e read. and it's cheap

my missus said she will lend me the rest.
so my buget as reached £400 no more. that's with the £8 postage

noctua is a decent cooler as well, if you get that should just be a little over your original £370 budget.
