Hi all, I know we have lots of upgrade threads going at the moment but if you guys could confirm something quickly.

to upgrade the rig in the sig to I7 I would only need to replace Mobo, CPU and ram. Is that correct?

I am thinking of moving my current kit into a htpc, getting a new case and single gpu card.

Does that make sense? if so what kit would you recommend (budget not really an issue if its good bang for buck)
 
Correct on the first point - PSU and graphics card are definitely transferrable. You'd also need a new heatsink if you wanted to use non-stock.

Yep fair point would need a new cooler - was actually just looking at a pre overclocked bundle, I7 920 @ 4.00 - £570. Would need to look at the cost of getting the bits myself as overclocking myself isnt a problem
