upgrade

Iam going to upgrade from the q6600 to the i7 route.
What i need to know is will i have to reformatt my hd or would it be ok just leaving it as it is and install the m/board drivers

Reformat but why the change in the first place? The Q6600 is still a great chip and overclocks extremely well.
