Upgrade!

Hi all im upgrading my Motherboard and CPU , im upgrading from a ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe motherboard and a Amd Athlon x2 6400+ (3.2Ghz) can you tell me if this is a good choice , i play a lot of games also and have a ATI 5770.

AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 965 Black Edition 3.40GHz

Gigabyte GA-790XTA-UD4 (Socket AM3)

any help would be most greatful

Well, it depends what from, and what your budget is etc.

I'd say they look good. I have a 5770 and it takes pretty much everything I throw at it. You could maybe look at Intel CPU's such as the I5 750 for that price range? Just a thought.

I would be looking at the X4 955BE which is under £130 at most retailers.

The motherboard uses DDR3 RAM.
