ATM im running a 32bit version of windows 7, but ive got 4gb RAM, and I'd like to use all of it.

I know upgrade isnt possible, but a fresh install. The copy ive got is a 32 Bit OEM disc and CD key. Ive heard it's possible to do a fresh install of 64bit using the 32bit OEM key.

My friend has retail copies of 32 and 64bit windows, could I borrow his 64bit retail disc and use my 32bit OEM key ?

Soudns complicated, but there must be a way ?

You will be fine using the license, can be used for both 32 & 64bit windows :)

One thing you need to watch is sometimes the license key could be to new for the code on the disc, this has happened with me with Vista in the past, the older disc did not work with the newer code.

You can also download the ISO right now and burn to DVD?

RJC will answer this better than me.

You can, but you need to ensure its from a trusted means, but far as I am aware there is no route through Microsoft, I would wait until you get the disc.

Thanks for that Jack.

Although would it be wise to try the friends disc first ? Would save DL time etc and any other problems

Of course, just wait for your friends disc. If for some reason the install wont accept your product key. You can always skip that section of the install and choose to enter it later. Enter it within windows and use the activation wizard, you may have to give the automated number a ring and punch in the code. It takes all of 5 minutes.
