I'm on a bit of an old rig, is it going to be up to it with some of the recent games?

Q9550 running at stock at present
2 x 80GB drives
2 x 1TB drives
Variety of other drives
4GB RAM
Sapphire 5870 graphics card
Silenco 550 case.

Windows 7 x64

Clock up that Q9550 and it should last you a little longer. See how it runs with some of the recent games. If you find the performance is too low for your liking then maybe consider upgrading the graphics card first, or your CPU if it can't reach 3ghz+.

Had a few stability issues when trying to clock it, so I dropped it back. I think I did have it at 3.6 for a while, can't remember

Am on a Corsair 520W PSU

what cooler are you using? if it's a stock intel you'll want a better 3rd party cooler, with the oc did you run prime etc to check the stability first(try tweaking the vcore etc). if 3.6ghz is giving issues try lower.

P5Q PRO

I'll look up some recommended board settings in a bit.

Was planning on re-applying the thermal compound etc.

Current temps are

39/38/38/31
