Upgrade

The OH has an old Acer unit thats showing its age, it takes forever just to turn on.

I think the spec is:
Intel E2200 (1.6GHz?...something silly low and unpowerful)
Acer Mobo (needs to go)
160GB HDD - This will suffice for the time being, might even buy a small SSD (30GB) just for windows, but thats after the upgrade.

I have plenty of DDR2 and DDR3 RAM and a HSF, so for now, its just a Mobo (mATX) and CPU.

Budget, cheap as possible. Second hand is fine, but if possible, a new mobo

EDIT: Might help if I put what they do on it

Basic web browsing, some browser games, some word processing, nothing too strenuous.

Are the HDD and any optical drives SATA?

There's no IDE support on the vast majority of S1155 motherboards.

.....I honestly dont know xD, I think the HDD is sata, but the optical is IDE....thats cheap enough to replace though.

I think Ive found the upgrade anyway, will be a C2D E8500 and a Gigabyte 775 mobo my friend has.
