Got some PPI back & SWMBO has given me the nod for some new shiny bits.

Computer is used mainly for playing games, browsing & kids homework. Which way do I go Ivy or Sandy, 8 or 16Gb Mem.

Dont need any HDD or DVD drives.

I was all set on buying the 2500K but since today I am undecided.

Whats the verdict good, bad?

Yep got Win 7 64, its the upgrade version though. Hopefully this is not tied to the Mobo like OEM?

Just to add did this upgrade from XP

What about the Cooler? Cheap and cheerful or is it up to the Job - recomendations as I will be trying my hand at overclocking

You will not be able to install the 64-bit upgrade onto a HDD without another operating system on it to "upgrade" from. However if it was purchased by you and the old OS is still on the HDD then you should be fine.
