Hello there! I am currently looking to upgrade my PC a bit since I feel that it is getting a bit slow overall and looking to see if the parts I have selected are a nice upgrade to what I have.

Current spec is -:
Q6600 @ stock I don't seem to get a stable overclock on it so I just gave up
Gigabyte EP45-DS3
4Gb of ram
6950

I am looking to spend around £350 to upgrade this to keep me going for a year or two.

YOUR BASKET
1 x AMD Piledriver FX-8 Eight Core 8320 Black Edition 3.50GHz (Socket AM3+) Processor - Retail £124.99
1 x OCZ Vertex 2E Bigfoot 180GB 3.5" SATA-II Solid State Hard Drive - (OCZSSD3-2VTX180G) £83.99
1 x MSI 970A-G46 AMD 970A (Socket AM3+) DDR3 Motherboard £64.99
1 x Patriot Viper "Black Mamba" Generation 3 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (PV38G160C9K) £49.99
1 x Wavemaster DAKOTA Performance Stereo Headphone - White £24.95
Total : £360.31 (includes shipping : £9.50).

I also have a question regarding my hard drives I currently have installed. I have an 80gb hard drive I use as an OS drive with some programs installed and plan to use the ssd for the same thing however I have 2x 1.5TB hard drives in software raid and was wondering if a new windows install will mess them up when I change them over.

Thanks for any replys

You might want to try another 4gig of ram first.... Can make a very big difference.
As for the RAID issue, I believe that your plan is good; however, when installing Windows to the SSD, you will need to disconnect the HDDs. When you've installed Windows, plug 'em back in. (There are detection issues if you try to install with the array connected).
