Have had my Zoostorm PC for over two years now,it consists of following..
G418 P3M. Motherboard
Pentium E8500 3.20 GHz CPU.
4 GB memory
2 x 1 tb hard drives
Radion HD5450 graphics card
Corsair CX 430 power supply
Win 7 premium os
I don't play games at all,and its fine for surfing and general everyday stuff. But its extremely slow when it comes to transcoding and burning films to DVD, in fact you can't do much else on it while its occupied doing this. I think it could do with a bit of an upgrade, I don't want to spend huge amounts on it,have a budget of £250 for new m.board,CPU and memory. Was thinking along the lines of a Intel i3 or i5 CPU, Asus
H81 M-Plus m.board and 8 GB memory. Hoping onboard graphics would be ok as i dont play games at all. Will keep both hard drives for now, may change one for SSD drive later on,although I'm not entirely convinced I would need SSD drives. Will keep the PC case as its fine,I think the power supply is OK. The more I look at upgrades the more confusing it gets, any advice would be appreciated, or suggestions on different m.board etc ideas, within my £250 budget. I had been looking at ready assembled m.board bundles, but don't think its beyond me assembling my own if its saving money. Only constraint is I want to stick with my Win 7 OS.
Thanks....Dennis
