I;m currently running this setup:

i2500k
z77 asrock motherboard
Enermax Galaxy 1000W EGX1000EWL ATX2.2 Modular PSU
Lian Li PC-A10B
Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz
Noctua nh-d14
GtX770.

I was thinking of upgrading to this:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-176-CS

And get a h100i for cpu cooler.

Would i see a considerable boost to performance from upgrading?
My budget is only £800

The 2500K is still a very good cpu. If you are only gaming then it isn't worth changing for the time being.

An i7 would be beneficial if you were doing things like rendering and so on.

How about an SSD if you don't have one ? You would probably need to do a fresh install of windows though.

A new case is always nice though, and the 760T is a good choice.

The Noctua NH-D14 is a very good cooler. I wouldn't swap it for a H100i.

I would swap out the 2500k for a 3770k. The haswell I7 would only offer about 5% more performance and would need a new board.

Id grab an £80 256gb ssd. Sell the 770 and replace with 2x 970s with the remaining budget.

+1, SSD will breathe new life into just about any machine that doesn't have one, provided you have at least a SATA2 port.

My psu is quite old and i'm guessing not compatible with haswell. Since i wanted a new case and psu, i thought i might as well change the whole thing.

I have a crucial m4 128gb ssd currently. Also since the 760t is see through, wouldn't a nh-d14 cover most of the motherboard and make it look dull?

P.s. yes i use my pc mainly for gaming and netflix

i cant really afford a 5280k atm, i was thinking more along the lines of 4790k as i would not upgrade for another 3-4 years

If you are only gaming then an i7 won't be any better than an i5.

I would wait until Skylake is released as that will have a new socket, and DDR4 Ram support (which should be cheaper by then). The Article below suggests that it will support both DDR3 and DDR4.

It is supposedly due around 2H 2015.

Skylake will probably be my best bet so i'll wait for that. Meanwhile i'd like to get a new case and a psu.

case i'm set on the 760T however psu i'm not too sure anymore. I would like something that is efficient and fully modular(current one is not the case).

should i stick with the gtx 770 as well or try to get another one for sli?

Is it a four or two gig 770? If it's a two gig model I'd sell it while it's still worth something and grab a 970 or two. a 970 is a good bit faster while using less power, you'd get 4gb vram, and they overclock really well.

The 3770k would give you PCIe 3.0 and would be better for a multi card setup.

PSU:

YOUR BASKET
1 x SuperFlower Leadex GOLD 750W Fully Modular "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black £89.99
Total : £99.59 (includes shipping : £8.00).

i think i'll go with the 850W instead as the 750w is out of stock at the moment.

My card is 2gb so i might try to get rid of it. Would it not be better to go for the gtx 980? I game at 1920x1080.

970 is better value, and if your board supports it you can go SLI in the future. Runs nice and cool by all accounts thanks to the low tdp.

And you absolutely must get an SSD if you don't already have one. Biggest upgrade you can make to most systems these days.
