Hey, I recently thought about upgrading my computer as with the new games coming out I can no longer max them out which kind of bothers me. I don't have a budget of how much money I could spend on the upgrade but I want my PC to be able to handle the Witcher 3 on ultra settings when it comes out.

My currents PC specs are:
Motherboard: MSI Z77A-G45
CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz 4 Cores
GPU: GTX 680 2GB
RAM: 16GB 1333MHz
PSU: 750W
If anyone could tell me what components to upgrade I would really appreciate that, thanks.

Hello and welcome to the forum :)

The only thing that I would upgrade is the GPU & overclock that CPU.

Do you have a budget in mind?

Edit: do you have a SSD.

Hi :)

I am not restricted to money as I just want to build a PC to be able to handle the latest games on ultra like Witcher 3. However, I don't want to go over the border and buy the most expensive parts like titans or the gtx 980 cards, and no. I don't have a SSD. :<

Thanks for your quick response

That's not really very helpful, you say money isn't an issue but you don't want to spend on a Titan or 980.

You need to have a budget in mind otherwise nobody has a clue how to help you.

What resolution do you play at?

Go for a GTX970 you get Witcher 3 and the new Batman game. Job done it's the best bang for buck card.

There's also the 290x's which are coming down in price although they're the GPU equivalent of a burning toaster but your PSU will cover it providing it's a decent brand. You won't get those nice games with that one though..

Also you have a K variant processor so why on earth are you not overclocking it? - it's free untapped power (ok you might want to spend 30quid or so on a half decent HSF to accommodate the overclock) That'll feed your GPU upgrade better as well ;)

Do buy an SSD for your OS and popular games you play. Capacities around 240-256GB are the best sweet spot pricing in general at the moment.

Lastly welcome to the forum - there's some really knowledgeable folk on here who are always more than happy to help :)

Okay, sorry but over past few weeks I've been very busy with college work and I couldn't respond to any of you. So, coming back to the upgrade what could I upgrade for about £700?

@pastymuncher

CoolerMaster gx 750w, although I think it has to be changed since sometimes it starts to work very loudly so it may be faulty.

Assuming you're running 1080p:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 WindForce OC 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (GV-N970WF3OC-4GD) £259.99
1 x Samsung 250GB 850 EVO SSD 2.5" SATA 6Gbps 32 Layer 3D V-NAND Solid State Drive (MZ-75E250B/EU) £79.99
1 x SuperFlower Golden Green HX 750W "80 Plus Gold" Semi-Modular Power Supply - Black £74.99
1 x Raijintek Tisis Dual Element Extreme CPU Cooler £49.99
Total : £474.56 (includes shipping : £8.00 Ex.VAT).

Picked the PSU as its on offer and same price as a 650W EVGA. What case do you have, need to check it fits some big stuff in there.
