Hi folks.

I'm looking to upgrade my PC.
I ain't a gamer. What I use my PC for, is to handle lots of large files. 100+ 24mg or more.
I NEVER like my PC to slow down while I'm working, hence the over build for what I do.
Can you guys tell me if these work together and if there is better options?

Xtreem 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-30000C18 3733MHz Dual Channel
SM951 256GB M.2 PCI-e 3.0 x 4 NVMe Solid State Drive
Core i5-6600K 3.9GHz (Skylake) Socket LGA1151 Processor
Z170 Sabertooth Mark 1 USB 3.1 Intel Z170 (Socket 1151) DDR4 ATX

One question though.
The processor is nearly £100 of a difference. Is there that much of a differrence or can I go with the i5?

You'll likely notice more difference spending that £100 upgrading the CPU from i5 to i7 than you will upgrading a £100 motherboard to a £200 motherboard, especially if you do a lot of multitasking.

If spending £200+ on a motherboard you might as well go X99 and perhaps wait and see what price the new 6-core i7-6800k launches at.

Or just get the i5 and put the savings towards a larger SSD, if you're working with a lot of large files.

The i7 is going to last longer, it does sound like you could do with the i7.

The RAM has gone back to £89, I only put in 32Gb as it was on offer, 16GB may also be perfectly adequate for you (you need a suitable 64bit OS to address this much RAM).

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £100.68
(includes shipping: £8.70)
