I'm looking to replace my RX 470 with a GTX 1070 but unsure if it is the right time. With the prices being crazy, I wasn't willing to spend £500 on on but now the prices are coming down and I could get the Inno3d 1070 for £380 or Zotac mini for £398. Should I buy now of hold off?

When the Zotac was launched, they were sold at £330, some were even sold around £300.

I can't predict the future, so I have no way of saying really whether it's a good time to buy, but I'd be sore at paying £70 over launch price for a mini... This market really is crazy.

That said - if I didn't have a current gen card, and money wasn't too tight, yeah go for it - it's going to be several months (current rumours say Q3) before a new generation of nvidia cards come out.

Unfortunately I don't think the miners are giving up any time soon :/

I thought the 1070Ti looked better value when I was thinking about this, but then again the cheapest 1070 was £400 at the time and the Ti £430 I think.

Yeah it's tough at the minute because I don't think either of them really offer £400 worth of performance in 2018. Hopefully prices will start coming down now but who knows really. Thankfully my current setup handles everything I throw at it at 60fps just fine, it's just the upgrade itch one to battle against at the minute lol.

I have that itch now. Bonus from work due soon (end of May) so I'm going to hold off until then. I may just go for it though at the end of May.

I'm hanging on for a bit of a price drop myself as well - if the Zotac Mini Ti comes down to a reasonable price I'm going to go SLI. But I'm not convinced that's going to be possible until nVidia release the next gen. At which point...

Just got one. I have to say, I have been thinking about this for a while and the 1070ti seemed the most logical spot for performance per pound as well as somewhat future proof, and I wanted the 3 year warranty so pulled the trigger. Plus, and I know its completely a placebo, but the fact its only been out months instead of years kind of makes me feel a bit better about splashing this much cash which I wouldnt usually do.
