Upgrade

Hi, currently running a i7 8700K @ 5Ghz on a Z370 aorus ultra gaming MOBO. Is there a compatible CPU upgrade path for me on this MOBO or will I need to upgrade both? Your recommendations would be appreciated. Thankyou

PC Partpicker is a very good tool. Will even mention if a bios update might be neeed

The link above will tell you everything, but to save you time:
8 core CPU = 9700K / 9700
8 core CPU with HT = 9900KS / 9900K / 9900

Right now, with a 8700K at 5 Ghz, it's probably not worth it. More likely your next worthwhile upgrade option will be something like an 8 P-core Raptor Lake or AMD CPU on AM5.
