Hi guys.
my wife has stated that her computer is starting to get a bit laggy when she plays her second life game.
I ordered the build from overclockers 5 years ago now. I dont use antivirus so dont know if buying that would improve anything or if its getting ready for some upgraded parts really.
which antivirus would you recommend if so?
which parts would you upgrade?

spec as follows:
ryzen 5 2600 3.9ghz
seagate 2tb barracuda 7200rpm 256mb hdd
Gigabyte B450 AORUS ELITE (Socket AM4) DDR4 ATX Motherboard
Kolink KL-600 SI-Edition 600W 80 Plus Bronze Power Supply
TeamGroup 480GB L5 Lite SSD 2.5 SATA 6Gbps 3D NAND Solid State Drive
Windows 10
PowerColor Radeon RX 590 Red Devil 8192MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
Team Group Vulcan T-Force 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-24000C16 3000MHz Dual Channel Kit - Grey (TLGD416G30
Kolink Stronghold Midi Tower Gaming Case - Black Tempered Glass Side Window

thanks

Can you run some monitoring software, or even just task manager, while the game is running?

I assume the game is installed to the SSD and the OS is on the hard drive?

I don't know much about the game, but my first thoughts would be to get the OS off the HDD (if it is) and upgrade to 32GB of memory, but without seeing the utilisation for the game, I'm just guessing.

Looking at the motherboard it can support 2 m.2 pcie 3 drives so just slot one of these in:

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £56.99 (includes delivery: £0.00)

Clone windows 10 onto it and second life and see if that speeds everything up.

Stick with the built in antivirus for win 10 and maybe use a anti spyware app like

Just use the free version to remove all the cookies to see if that helps.

Maybe update your BIOS to the latest, pick up a 5700X3D when they become available soon and buy 2 x 16Gb sticks of memory and get that to 32Gb. I'd also say graphics card but second life won't benefit from that and you'd need a power supply upgrade for anything stronger in that department.
