Hi everyone just wondering if people could let me know how this build will run, ordered a new i7 cpu and mobo to upgrade my old fx8320 due to getting poor performance in games (min fps drops) and if you guys could give me some ideas for more upgrades.
Specs -
MSI Z97S Krait
I7 4790K - Stock Speeds atm
R9 290 Tri-x OC 4gb (thinking of adding another for CF)
16GB patriot viper black mamba 2133mhz
2tb seagate barracuda
Corsair h55 Liquid cooler
Corsair Cx750m
Corsair Spec01 case

So far I've upgraded cpu and motherboard and swapped out 8gb crucial ballistix 1600 because I got the Patriot memory for free. How will this build perform with up and coming games?

You gotta get a SSD, Get the samsung evo is you can afford it and use the magician software Download from Samsung Its awesome.

Your system is pretty good the 290 will be ok but if you add a nother then alls good.

I suspect that with another 290 your psu would struggle. Theyre quite power hungry cards and the CX psu's arent great for high end systems. Moreso if you overclock.

Thanks for the replys guys. Only thing putting me off crossfire is but I hate to say it amd poor optimisation in games for CF profiles. Without going for a 980/980ti are there any nvidia cards out there that will outperform the 290? I already have the gpu overclocked to 1120 on the core and 1350 mem using afterburner. The 290 Tri-x are still fetching a penny online. Would it be worth jumping ship to nvidia?
