Upgraded Pc - Cant overclock like i used too...

Hey guys, recently purchased a MSI K8N SLI Motherboard and a Geforce 7900Gt. I origonally had a MSI NEO2 Platinum motherboard and used to overclock my athlon 64 3200 to about 2.5ghz with no problems. Since the upgrade my cpu has dropped in temperature but for some reason will not clock beyond 2.19ghz, as soon as I change the FSB to 2.2 i get no signal input, its so annoying. I've played around with slight increase to voltage but just dont understand why it wont surpass 2.2ghz... I had no problems before with the neo 2 platinum so why cant i clock this beyond 2.19??

Any suggestions would be kindly appreciated!

best guess is the motherboard doesn't like to be clocked.

try the CPU back with the old motherboard and see if you can still get it up to 2.5GHz... if it does you know theres nothing wrong with your processor and its your new motherboard thats holding you back.

You haven't forgotten to change your RAM divider or HTT multi have you?

I'm using the same ram as i did before, everything is on auto settings on the bios.

What about HT frequency, if thats on auto it may be too high, lower it to 3 or 4.

AUTO?! Ah! You nutter.

What you want to do is set it all to manual. My old A8N-SLi Delux hated being overclocked with any form of auto settings. Swap them over to Manual and that should hepfully cure it...

Right ok, im not an expert on memory and so am not sure how to configure:

I know i can run at 2-3-3-6 but i dont know how which setting is which, thers no many options on the memory bios i aint got a clue which ones to alter :S

Any help much appreciated!

2-3-3-6 is as follows in the D ram config
2 Cas latency(Tcl) 3 Ras to Cas delay (Trcd) 3 Row precharge time (Trp) 6 Min RAS active time (Tras)

Is that all i need to change yes? And then i SHOULD be able to overlock over 2.2?

No they are just the ram timings and what they are called, someone that has the board may help, make a post in the overclocking or motherboard section.
