Upgraded PC, now to sort GPU

Hi all,

Through the words of wisdom on this forum, I have upgraded the wifes PC to give her better performance for work related tasks (rendering video - Adobe after effects and Blender are the two main programmes she uses)

Now has a Ryzen 7 3700X based system with MSI B450M mortar max m/b. 32GB memory and a Seasonic Focus GX-650 PSU base, together with a RX590 8GB graphics card.

If she were to spend up to around £350 on a new graphics card, would there be noticeable quality improvements in ideally both her work software and 1080P gaming? (If just gaming is improved, this is fine)

The old card won't be wasted as such as it will go into my PC but, we don't want to spend money needlessly if the benefit is minor.

Thinking of RX5600XT, 5700 or 2060 or some sort but not tied to any brand.
Her m/b only has PCI-e 3.0, not sure if that makes a difference?

Thoughts and comments appreciated.

Tbh the RX590 8gb does a great job at 1080p,i had one for a few months and was more than pleased... If you wanted a step up for £350 I'd look at a RX5700xt they range from £320 upwards

The RX590 is still a solid 1080p card, I'd give it until the end of the year and see what the new GPU's bring unless she's desperate for more performance.

Indeed in half year we should have good amount more performance for reasonable price.

Thanks all. We’ll wait and see what comes. Might get a s/h card for my pc instead.

One of the other reasons for swapping cards is to get the older 4gb rx570 from mine (newly built from the wife’s previous machine) back into the Dell T3500 and sell it as they are going for good money.

All a little convoluted but doesn’t sound like investing £350~ is a good idea at the moment.

thanks again.
