Upgraded to windows 10 cant add network drives?

Updated to windows 10 last night and for some reason i can re add the shared drives on the other pc on my network, which is windows 8.1,

i can see the pc when i go to add the drives but it then says it cant connect.

the other pc can access the shared drive on my windows 10 machine

bizarre

anyone come across similar?

Yes.

Try the server name, followed by the directory like so:

\\Server-Name\Directory

Try it first in the explorer bar, if it works add it as a network drive.

On windows 8.1 I used to connect though the local IP address but for Windows 10 this does not appear to work anymore.

had a similiar problem when I tried Windows 10. In my case I was attempting to add my network shares to a Library.

My solution was to manually navigate to the network in explorer first, then I was able to add the library successfully
