Upgraded VM package...so new Super Hub Sent Out

Evening guys

Ive been sent a new Super Hub.

Currently the older one which works fine is downstairs. Recently the engineer told me the new super hub isnt all that and to stick with the older one... anyways theyve sent me a new one after upgrading package.

Currently I have a HP server downstairs (old hub next to it.)
A PC connected via Ethernet cable from Hub to upstairs location.

WIFI is a bit flakey in the room upstairs.... Can I use the old hub in modem mode upstairs as a WIFI booster ? or even the newer hub upstairs ?

And even though everything is connected do I still need to ring the automated line to connect the new Hub ?

Not sure what the engineer knows that we don't. The latest Superhub 2ac is apparently the best of the lot. The original SH1 is the worst.

As far as I know there is no way of configuring superhubs to act as access points, and yeah you need to ring the automated line to activate or whatever it is they do.
 
Thanks guys I'll plug the new one in downstairs and see if the wifi is any better..... If not what would you suggest I get to boost the signal for the second floor.... (old stone house with thick walls)

Depending on your electrics, you could get a powerline that has an access point built in. If not, can you run ethernet up there? Then you can get a cheap router to act as an AP.
