Christmas has been kind to me this year so i have a bit of money for an upgrade, But i was wondering how far to go with this..

At the moment my spec is a i3 530 2.93, 4gb ram, GTX 460, and a 1tb Hard drive. All wrapped in the beautiful lian li q11.

It runs pretty cool and quiet at the moment, but i was planning on braiding the cables at some point, probably summer just to make it a bit neater getting things in and out.

The upgrade would come in 2 parts in a way, if i upgrade the cpu and ram, i would then use my current cpu and ram to build a second SFF a little smaller than the q11 for use with the TV combined with the mini dinovo edge would be ideal for just general youtube browsing etc, then the new cpu and ram would be for the q11 which is my main PC.

The other option is to not bother with the second PC, and to attempt to sell my current CPU and ram.

I do have a few questions

Is an SSD a worth while upgrade ?
Are there big performance increases going from an i3 to i5 and from i5 to i7 ?
Which aftermarket low profile CPU coolers would be quiet enough to keep my system whisper quiet?
Has anyone here used the diNovo Edge for Gaming ?

Anyways this post has gotten rather long and im not its all related to upgrades.

Anyways hope you all had a great christmas, Thanks in advance for any help given.

Well i can answer a few questions.

Is an SSD a worth while upgrade ?

With current prices yes for sure.

Are there big performance increases going from an i3 to i5 and from i5 to i7 ?

Not sure about i3 > i5 but i5 > i7 is minimal unless you need 8 threads.

Has anyone here used the diNovo Edge for Gaming ?

Yes till a few months ago i swore by wired mice and keyboards for gaming but now have a Edge and MX performance which are perfectly fine for gaming IMO.
