Hi,

I have a media rig with this Mobo in it:

http://www.msi.com/product/mb/K9N6SGM-V---K9N6PGM-FI---K9N6PGM-F.html#?div=Detail

Its got an AMD 4000+ CPU and 2gb ram and a 1tb samsung spinpoint f3 in it.

My girlfriend has about £250 to spend on a PC so she can play Diablo3 and the new Starwars MMO when it comes out as her laptop is dying. I said she could use my media rig if she bought a new monitor and gpx card.

I was thinking along the lines of a GTX 460 and on of those ludicrously cheap 23inch LG panels (£150?!)

Would the old CPU/mobo/ram cause any issues with these games? I just dont want her to spend £250 only to find out the other parts are so bad it couldnt run them anyway.

Thanks!

Iain

You need to find out what PSU you have, adding a powerful/power hungry graphics card maybe too much if its not up to the job.

I'm no great knowledge on that cpu, but id be inclined to say yes......that cpu is very likely to bottleneck a gtx 460 seriously....and we cant know how cpu intensive diablo or starwars will be but i suspect it will be more that that cpu can handle......

the hdd is very gd. What psu do you have?

Id be inclined to recommend selling that mobo, ram and cpu and buy new....maybe an am3 chip or an i3 clarkdale setup?

Good cheap gfx card: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-187-XF&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=

Maybe a bundle a bit like this? I know its almost at your budget without a gfx card but id say its your best bet...or something similar:http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-011-OP&groupid=43&catid=2053&subcat=
