So I received a 4790K in the post and I need to update some other parts of my system.

I plan on going to Insomnia later this year and in the future so I am primarily looking at a MATX motherboard/case. Although any reasonable case that can fit a ATX motherboard and is suitable for LAN use (such as the Corsair C70) would be acceptable. I will also be using a Corsair H100i as my heatsink so the case has to be compatible with it.

I am currently using a Z68X-UD3H-B3 motherboard and Corsair Carbide 400R case.

I was thinking something along the lines of the following

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte Z97MX-Gaming 5 Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard £113.99
1 x BitFenix Prodigy M MATX Cube Case - Midnight Black £64.99
Total : £192.48 (includes shipping : £11.25 Ex.VAT).

Thanks for any advice in advance.

It's doable* to fit the H100i in the M-ATX Prodigy but you won't have any room to use the second PCI-E slot on the mobo, and you might then wonder if it would've been better to just go with the ITX version as the spacing between GPU and where the H100i would go is a lot better.

* Depending on GPU length, as the H100i hoses need room vertically down to reach the pump's destination.

I wouldn't go for that, personally.

For now I've decided just to go with the following

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 7 Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £127.99
1 x EVGA SuperNova G2 750W '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply £89.99
Total : £217.98 (includes shipping : Ex.VAT).

I will most likely convert my old PC into a dedicated LAN machine. I will look for a case and MATX/ITX motherboard for cheap on clearance or the MM in the meantime.
