Current Set Up is

i5 2500k @4.5Ghz
Asus P8Z68
8GB Corsair Vengeance Ram
1TB HDD
128GB Crucial M4 SSD
Asus GTX 670
Seasonic X-Series 850w

I have some money and really want to upgrade something, im slightly power hungry.

My main plan was maybe a new gtx 670 for SLI as i have 2 monitors

I have an Acer Monitor Acer S240HLbid and an Asus one ASUS VE247H

Also have Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU fan and from research this only cost £15 and i see people getting ones at £50, im pretty sure my CPU gets quite hot aswell

If your going to game across two screens, then another 670 is a nice choice. The rest of the system looks very good indeed.

I was initially annoyed at what LEUVEN posted but im beginning to think it may have been a joke :p . They are completely unnecessary upgrades and will see you no benefit. Especially a 1500W PSU, whats that all about?? :D

The RAM is better but will not net you any increased performance. Sandy is not going to see any tangible benefits at anything over 1600Mhz speeds on RAM. You could always try enabling the XMP profile if you haven't already to make sure you get the best you can from what you have.

Dont upgrade HDD or SSD unless you are limited for space. What you have is fine and will net you very little difference in performance.

If you are multi monitor gaming then more GPUs is always nice. I dont know what memory you have on your card but if you plan on more multi monitors in the future having something like 4GB might benefit you:

ASUS 4GB GTX 680

There are many much nicer coolers out there that you might want to look at if you want to try and silence your PC as far as you can. I cant speculate on whether a better cooler will net you more performance as that is down to the overclockability of your individual chip but i like a quiet pc so you might want to give that a shot too? Since im assuming you have the higher profile corsair ram, the large air coolers might give you trouble so something like a H100 or similar might be something nice for you to invest in?

Thanks for response i thought he was joking aswell, i think i might just get SLI 670s as i would need to sell my 670, could u recommend a good CPU cooler id pay £50 ish i have a medium sized Coolermaster HAF 912 Plus Case.
Also someone mentioned something about a backplate on the Motherboard, i cant remember if my current fan uses that or not and if it doesnt i have no idea where it would be hah

Because of variations in motherboards etc you are going to need to measure to make sure any of these larger coolers will fit over you ram, most should be fine but please check (but not with a metal ruler! :))

My friend had this cooler and was impressed by its silence:

Dark Rock 2

All in one water that is fairly commonly used:
Antec Kuhler 620

And another i have head good news on but the best value for money:
Noctua NH-U12DX

Id get a second 670 and upgrade the ram. vengeance isnt very good IMO
better ram and a better CPU cooler will help you get the best out of your chip

EDIT try and get some Samsung green. low profile so you wouldn't have any issues with any coolers you may want

Vengeance is not the best ram in the world thats true, but on SB your not gonna see any tangible benefit over 1600Mhz AFAIK. Still, as cammy says, may be worth grabbing some low profile ram just to make the most effective use of the space in your case.

You would see benefit up to 1866mhz on SB then very little after that but the Sammys at that speed will run of battery's almost most likely 1.35v or something

Great cheap low profile ram that you could move to your new system in the future because im sure there rated at 2400mhz-2600mhz speeds.

If you change your chip in the future to ivy you will then see the benefit :)

£94 for 16GB

When I buy new ram I will be buying this.

The only reason I haven't is I have ek cooling ram blocks for dominator in my rig so it would mean stripping them out and draining my loop

The samsung green cammy has linked above is a great choice. Nice and low and it overclocks like stink. Will fit fine with the k2, which is the cooler im using and can highly reccomend.

The k2 and the greens will be fine, it's lower profile than my corsair vengeance lp which the k2 fits over ok. The fans supplied with the k2 are also very good.
