I already have a Phenom 965, hd 5670, Samsung f3, Asus m4a79xtd evo, 700w silent pro psu, optical drive and a cm storm scout case with it all in but I'm about to come across some money(next month or so) and as my PC isn't performing quite to my needs I was thinking about what upgrades I should spend my money on? any suggestions welcome.

definately get a new graphics card. Maybe a gtx460 or 470 depending on budget. Or you can wait a few months for the new ATI 6*** series. Also grab yourself an SSD.

yeh, graphics was one of the things I was definitely going to get, but the SSD, does it really make that much difference?

Yes. SSD's are amazing things. Probably not essential, but the sheer speed of them is unreal. If you have low patience then definitely invest in one.

What's the budget in total may I ask??

The total budget depends on how much impact it's going to make to my PC but if it's really worthwhile I could probably stretch to 600-800

wait until the ati 6 series is out, maybe save up and wait for sandy bridge and do a major overhaul then (about jan or feb 2011)

if u dont want to do that get a i5 760, a p55 board, another 4gb of ram and a gtx 470

IIRC the first batch of SB (Q1 2011) are the mainstream which means the i7 will still be the fastest untill the enthusiast SB comes out(later 2011). so if you are thinking of getting an i5 now i would just wait for the SB mainstream, but if you consider an i7 thats a different matter :D

edit: i thought the first 6*** series are due out this month
