Hello,

as this is completely impossible I have decided on a 9070/9070xt and parts to go with that.
My case vibrates so I might even get rid of that.

Could I improve upon for atx

Kingston FURY Beast EXPO 64GB (2x32GB) DDR5 PC5-44800C30 6000MHz Dual Channel Kit
Asrock B850 Pro-A WiFi (Socket AM5) DDR5 ATX Motherboard or
MSI B850 GAMING PLUS WIFI (AMD AM5) B850 ATX Motherboard
AMD Ryzen 5 9600X Six Core 5.40GHz (Socket AM5) Processor
Crucial T500 4TB NVMe PCIe Gen4 M.2 Solid State Drive

or for matx

Antec CX600M ARGB M-ATX Mini Tower
Gigabyte B850M GAMING X WIFI6E (Socket AM5) DDR5 Micro ATX Motherboard or
Asrock B850M Riptide WiFi (Socket AM5) DDR5 mATX Motherboard

I have a Corsair 850x, Peerless Assassin and an old 1440p 60hz monitor I intend to use until it breaks.

My first thought is that you're putting a lot of money into things that don't get you more performance in games (a case, 64GB of memory and 4TB of storage), but a 9600X is sufficient for 1440p/60 and a 9070, so it isn't a big deal unless you're playing games that love the X3D's cache.

Thanks for the replies.

No set budget. A decent £/performance for 1440/60hz.

I have always ended up upgrading ram so thought 64gb.

Kingston FURY Beast EXPO 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 PC5-48000C30 6000MHz

Crucial T500 2TB

Asrock B850 Pro-A WiFi (Socket AM5) DDR5 ATX Motherboard or

MSI B850 GAMING PLUS WIFI (AMD AM5) B850 ATX Motherboard
AMD Ryzen 5 9600X Six Core 5.40GHz (Socket AM5) Processor

If I keep the old case or

Kingston FURY Beast EXPO 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 PC5-48000C30 6000MHz

Crucial T500 2TB

Antec CX600M ARGB M-ATX Mini Tower

Asrock B850M Riptide WiFi (Socket AM5) DDR5 mATX Motherboard
AMD Ryzen 5 9600X Six Core 5.40GHz (Socket AM5) Processor

for the Antec?

If you're keeping the same CPU as the first spec, then there's really no benefit in downsizing the storage/RAM capacity.

I'm just trying to help you get the best performance for your budget, but we're really stabbing in the dark here when we don't know what you can actually spend.

If you have an infinite budget just get the 4TB SSD, 64GB of RAM and a 9800X3D, because why not?

I don't have an infinite budget, hence keeping my old monitor and the 9600x.

honestly if you got no set budget then might as well sell your current screen and get a high-refresh rate panel instead. why hamstring your new system with a sub-par screen?

I'm not up to date with screens and mostly play RPGs.

Say if your budget is £900, you want:
- At least 2TB SSD.
- New case.
- Decent CPU upgrade from 6600K.
- Ideally more than 32GB.

Edit: that's ATX obviously. Just saw you already have a peerless assassin, so delete that too.

The parts in the original post total a bit under £1600 so that can be the budget.

The monitor is an old dell IPS. It'll definitely need replacing sometime in the near future but I'll keep it for now.

thank you, that gives us something to work to.

if you don't need 64gb ram or a 4tb drive (i know this is what you specced in your original post), this is what you can get for the money or thereabouts including a 1440p 180hz ips panel
your current monitor can be the second panel in a dual screen setup
the 850x psu and peerless assassin is reused
9070xt is not worth it at the current prices. would opt to get a 5070ti instead
