Upgrading a dell vostro laptop graphics card

Hi

Im still deliberating on getting a dell laptop. I wondered is it possible to upgrade a basic dual core vostro (the vostro 1000) that comes with integrated graphics to an 8600M GT at a later date.

This chap did it with a latitude

No, because it won't have an MXM slot (or Dell's equivalent) to upgrade with.

Actually you probably can, but Dell don't use MXM, they have their own version.

Edit: nope, nevermind, only the 15/1700 have upgradable cards

You're only guaranteed to be able to do that if theres already a dedicated video card in the laptop. I wouldn't expect upgradeable graphics in a £300 laptop.
