A customer at work has a Dell Optiplex GX620 currently running a 3.2GHz P4 (Prescott) - He needs a bit more processing power from his machine and Dell have been less than helpfull, they have just told us it will be cheaper to buy a new PC.
I have updated the BIOS to the latest version and ran CPU-Z to see what chipset it has, which is; Northbridge Intel i945G/GZ rev. A2.
Does anyone know what the max CPU this machine can take? I think it might be a Core2Duo E6300 (the version with 800MHz FSB) or any Pentium D.
Edit: Does anyone know what speed memory this machine can take too? It currently has PC2-4200 memory but PC2-5300 memory is cheaper.
Cheers chaps,
Craig
