Hi all,
Ive got an 4000+ Clawhammer (0.13(mu letter thing), 1.5v stock), running at 57c tops with orthos, using the stock cooling. (Measured with CoreTemp)
Couple a' questions:
Is this the normal load temps of this chip? Cause i "may" have bodged installing the stock paste...?
Would i see a large temp decrease (if so, how large?) by switching to a better fan, and better paste (arctic silver 5)? (Case is a Wavemaster, so restricted height to about 14.4cm)
Thing is, im having a major overhaul in the late summer or so, when the new ATI cards have had a chance to shine and hopefully some concrete info about the new AMD chips is out, and its "probably" gonna be my first watercooled system (plan to heavy oc) so that means the fan i get now will be a temp job, this leads to my final question:
Is the cheap "Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro THAT much worse than the £30+ coolers? Dont wanna save £20 and realize that its no better than the stock AMD coolers :S (gonna be using the AS5 tho)
Cheers
