Hey guys,
Ill be upgrading my PC relatively soon and as such would appreciate any advice you have to offer.
My current specs are:
Operating System
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1
CPU
Intel Core i7 2600K @ 3.40GHz
Sandy Bridge 32nm Technology
RAM
8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 668MHz (9-9-9-24)
Motherboard
Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. Z68X-UD7-B3 (Socket 1155)
Graphics
BenQ XL2410T (1920x1080@120Hz)
4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 (NVIDIA)
Storage
119GB M4-CT128M4SSD2 ATA Device (SSD)
465GB Western Digital WDC WD5000AZRX-00A8LB0 ATA Device (SATA)
931GB Seagate ST31000524AS ATA Device (SATA)
Optical Drives
HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH22NS70 ATA Device
Audio
ASUS Xonar D2X Audio Device
All that was taken from Speccy and its housed in a Corsair 800D.
The only part im not looking to upgrade as it stands is my GPU for obvious reasons.
On that basis I was thinking of doing the mobo/CPU next (and possibly RAM). I was sifting through what OCUK offers and came across the 'Asus TUF X99 Sabertooth Intel X99 (Socket 2011) DDR4 ATX Motherboard'. The reason why I picked this out is because I like the aesthetic of a 'closed' mobo.
Would this mobo be a good option to go for? Will it last a good 4+ years? And is it worth the pricing?
Also in addition to that what kind of CPU should I be putting with it and the same applies for RAM. I presume going for 16GB of RAM might be worth the option due to futureproofing.
Everything I buy would be in the mindset of it lasting 3-5 years (same as what ive got currently) and being capable of running games for the next 3+ years on a very high setting.
Thanks in advance!
