Upgrading advice.

Hi.

I am looking for some advice on some upgrades for my machine. Current spec below.

• AMD Phenom x2 BE 550 (unlocks to 4 cores)
• 4 gb kingston ddr3 ram
• Asus m4a78lt motherboard
• Corsair 400 watt (HX model)
• Integrated radeon 3000 graphics.
• 120 gb samsung evo ssd
• Asus axe square CPU cooler.

I bought the parts four years ago and as I do not play games on the computer it is fine in terms of performance. The issue I have is the PSU and CPU fan are loud and I would like to be able to have the machine run as quiet / silent as possible.

Are there any recommendations on quiet CPU cooler and PSU for around £70. My other thoughts in the long term were to buy one of the low powered CPUs that draw less power and heat which would make keeping it cool and quiet simpler.

Main uses on the machine are browsing, watching TV / movies and some uni work.

The only thing on the cooler that will be noisy is the fan, so just get a new fan.

Thanks for the suggestions above. Replacing the fan on the cooler will help save some money. Have you had any experience with the PSU you have listed above and how quiet it is?
