I recently bought a digibox as my area can receive digital, only to find out that my aerial is not up to it. Does anyone have any experience of this fixing the problem and also any idea of how much this is likely to set me back?

Thanks in advance.

That's very surprising. I was able to get digital through a £3 Argos jobby for a few months before I moved. Are you using a portable aerial? Is it maybe right next to some pipes in the walls? Other than that I'm all out of ideas.

It's a rooftop aerial unfortunately. I think the digital signal may be different in different areas as, like you say, some people in certain areas can pick it up on portable aerials!

You might want to get this moved to the Home Cinema and Hi-Fi section since that's where all TV hardware related stuff gets answered.

However: this weekend I had my aerial upgraded to a high gain rig, had the cable re-routed though the loft and split to feed a distribution box that was already splitting and amplifying the signal to a number of other TVs.

£180 all in.
