Upgrading affect warranty?

I've never been sure about this - does upgrading MacBook void the warranty? A friend of mine seems to think it does but I was under the impression it didn't....

Ram and Hard drive in the MacBook don't void warranty as far as I know.

Hard drive in the MBPro does.

Or if you can get around the machine and leave no trace of detection - then anything is within the realms of possibility.

No it doesn't, they are both user replaceable parts.
