Hi, I'm currently running an i5 6600K on an Asus Z170-A with 16gb of 2400 DDR.

I'm looking to upgrade to something nicely mid range as in planning on using the pc as an Xbox series S alternative. I'm way out of the know on current tech so needing some help on which CPU/mobo to go for, thanks

I've added the budget. Is it worth going Ryzen?

I've already got some Xbox games as well as decent collection of pc games to keep going and have already got a decent GPU so for me it makes sense to stick with pc rather than go for an Xbox console.

To be honest after the last gen of consoles pc gaming is so much easier as game updates seem to be quicker and simpler and I don't have to wait hours for a system update every time I turn it on.
